God of This City

Lately, God has been nudging me to pray for my city.  Not only have I been praying by myself, I have also been given the opportunity to travel around the city praying in strategic sites with two of our youth group’s bible studies.  We have had some awesome times of prayer and blessing over our city, asking God to come and inhabit our land and giving Him permission to do as He pleases.

This week, as we prayed on the ridge overlooking our city, we sang out Passion’s (Bluetree’s) God of Our City.  What a wonderful song!  It’s my declaration and prayer. My city belongs to God and may the “greater things” He has for it be done!

God of This City

You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation
You Are

Bridge:
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

Chorus 1:
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

Verse 2:
You’re the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You’re the King above all Kings
You Are

You’re the strength in our weakness
You’re the love to the broken
You’re the joy in the sadness
You Are

Chorus 2:
Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Where glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for you and love for you
In this city

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

Keep up the writing. I am certain the Lord has gigantic plans for you, your talents, and the future of your town and who know’s where else.

I’ll be back to read again!
